EEF has an opportunity for an experienced HR Adviser/Consultant, to join our well-established Employment Law Advice team in the North East; based from our Sheffield office and working with our clients in the region.

In this role you will work under the direction of, and in conjunction with our Principal Adviser and Regional Head of HR & Legal, to provide HR consultancy advice and services to our clients, and to also give support to other internal departments.


Key Responsibilities
• Meet with member companies and client’s, whether on site or at the company premises.
• Provide HR advice orally and / or in writing
• Draft and review contracts of employment, policies, procedures and other employment related documentation.
• Prepare and undertake the delivery of training and briefings/workshops to member companies
• Assist the Principal Adviser and Regional Head of HR & Legal to enable them to achieve their objectives and other Advisers as and when so requested.
• Work closely with all internal departments in the retention and recruitment of members, particularly for mid-market accounts and key accounts.
• Manage and/or service accounts in conjunction with fellow staff to required levels as and when required.
• Identify fee-paying opportunities.
• Undertake consultancy work generally and in particular for HRC / Employee Relations work and other business units as and when requested.
• Give comprehensive and timely advice via our Advice Line to member companies/clients as and when requested.
• Maintain a high standard of professional knowledge and continuous improvement.



To be successful in this role, you will have:
• Generalist HR experience
• Experience of advising clients in human resources and employee relations – knowledge and experience of employment law would be beneficial
• Experience of drafting and reviewing documentation, such as employment contracts, policies, service level agreements
• Experience of any of the following areas would also be beneficial: trade unions, pensions, mediation
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – both written and verbal
• Commercial awareness – able to consult and promote the business and its services
• Strong IT skills (specifically Outlook, Word and Internet)
• As the role requires travel to meet with clients a UK driving licence is required
