We have an exciting opportunity to join EEF in the role of Business Development Manager for Engineering Apprenticeships. The role will be based from our world-class state of the art facility in Aston, Birmingham, with regular travel in the Midlands and occasional national travel.

 

As the UK’s leading trade body focused in the Manufacturing Sector, EEF offer a range of professional services, as well as having an extensive apprenticeship programme, with training taking place at our state of the art facilities in Aston, Birmingham. We are Ofsted grade 2, RoATP approved and have an apprentice completion rate of 85%.

 

In the role of Business Development Manager for Apprenticeships, you will be involved in the development and delivery of a Sales Plan to generate increased revenue from new and existing clients in terms of their apprenticeship vacancies, in line with the needs of our existing facility and future growth plans.

 

We are looking for candidates with Business Development/Sales experience, ideally within the apprenticeships and education/learning and development sector, or alternatively with experience and knowledge of selling within the manufacturing and engineering industry.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • To work with the Apprentices and Skills and Business Development functional senior management in developing and reviewing the business and sales and marketing plans to deliver growth for EEF’s Apprentices & Skills business
  • To establish strong connections for new business with key internal stakeholders, existing clients, relevant industry and educational bodies and target companies
  • To work effectively with EEF’s Apprentices and Skills Commercial Manager, Centre Management, WBL teams and national Business Development teams

 

Key Skills & Experience Required:

  • Impressive business record, particularly in Business Development / Sales
  • Experience and knowledge of the Apprentices & Skills sector, or of manufacturing/engineering
  • Ability to work and communicate at the highest level, to think strategically and to deliver on objectives
  • Experience of researching and generating sales leads
  • Successful track record of profitable business development
  • Ideally experienced in working face-to-face with clients
  • A valid UK driving licence is essential
