We have an exciting opportunity to join EEF as Regional Membership Manager for the East Midlands, in a field based role.

 

EEF is a long-established business and the UK’s leading trade body focused on the Manufacturing and Engineering Sector. We offer a range of professional services to our members - principally regarding HR & legal, health & safety, climate & environmental advisory, training & consultancy and work with a broad range of businesses, including world-renowned, blue-chip organisations.

 

In role of Regional Manager, you will be looking to raise the profile and influence of EEF within the East Midlands; working to grow our membership base in the region via new member acquisition, member engagement and member retention; maximizing the business value in the region, through members, clients and commercial partners.

 

 

Key responsibilities:

 

Business Development

  • To work in partnership with internal teams and with member companies, to acquire new members
  • To work with EEF teams to generate incremental revenues from existing members
  • To work with internal teams to identify and develop commercial opportunities from non-member clients.

 

Member Engagement and Retention

  • To co-ordinate the onboarding of new members to ensure we are delivering against their expectations
  • To engage proactively with members; ensuring that members are aware of the full range of EEF services and feel they are getting value from their membership
  • To manage potential service issues, working in partnership with the Business Services teams, addressing potential risks of resignation and working with “pending resignation” members to reverse their decision to leave
  • To engage proactively with members to increase the number who are “active” and “activist” (those who are advocates, ambassadors and spokespeople for EEF).
  • To organise a range of networking events targeted at both members and prospective members

 

External Affairs

  • To work with the Region Director to identify potential sources of available business support and ensuring that members in the region are aware of it and helping them to gain access to it
  • To work with the Region Director to ensure that the views of East Midlands area members are fed into EEF national policy activity and that they are involved in EEF policy briefings and events
  • To work with the Region Director to ensure that EEF national policy activity and policy wins are communicated to members and that members understand the implications of upcoming legislative changes

 

Skills & experience:

  • Degree level education, ideally in a relevant subject (business studies, economics, politics, engineering, etc.)
  • Experience within either business development, account management/customer service or marketing
  • A good understanding of the business environment, ideally with a strong network within the region
  • Strong commercial acumen, with well-developed negotiation skills, combined with a “customer first” ethos
  • A first-class communicator, with the confidence and gravitas to represent EEF at the highest levels
  • Self-motivated and willing to “go the extra mile”
  • Collaborative worker
  • Experience of building relationships with strategic partners would be beneficial
  • An understanding of manufacturing and engineering, ideally with a period of working within the manufacturing sector in a technical and/or commercial role
  • Previous experience of working for a membership organisation would be beneficial, but is not essential
  • Able to undertake travel, both within the region and nationally
  • A valid UK driving licence is essential
