We have a great opportunity to become a part of our well established and experienced sales team as a Business Development Executive in Birmingham.

You will be working with warm leads, speaking with existing clients/members about booking onto training courses or seminars, or to arrange a meeting with their local Business Solution Partner.

The role offers a competitive salary and fantastic benefits, including commission and is working standard office hours, 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

We are the UK’s leading trade body focused in the Manufacturing and Engineering Sector. We offer a range of professional services to our members and also to non-member organisations - principally HR & legal, health & safety, climate & environmental advisory, training & consultancy.

As a Business Development Executive, you will be responsible for:

  • Making outbound calls to members, building rapport and networking
  • Identifying sales opportunities
  • Speaking with present customers to identify leads for the field sales team to upsell wider services
  • Regularly update and monitor CRM systems
  • Dealing with inbound calls and emails, and action in a timely and accurate manner

Technical knowledge and experience:

  • Experience in a similar role making outbound calls – such as sales, customer service or recruitment
  • Ability to sell products or services over the phone
  • Excellent communication skills, with a professional manner
  • Skilled at understanding customer needs
  • Engaging prospects in a wider business conversation rather than as a simple transactional call
  • Ability to quickly build rapport and trust over the phone
  • Organised and detail-oriented - comfortable working with numerous data sources to effectively plan activity
  • Good level of understanding of MS Office
