We have an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Quality & Operations specialist, to join us as a Programme Lead/ Pro-Lead Lecturer, working for one of our key blue chip clients, supporting experienced, higher level learners. Based from our site in Aston, Birmingham.

Main purpose of the job:

 

To have overall management of the Pro-Lead programme together with the Programme Director, ensuring that objectives and deadlines are met accordingly and communicated with all relevant parties together with delivery. This is a joint role together with teaching on the scheme. As the scheme grows teaching may reduce and programme management grow.

To develop and deliver schemes of work and lesson plans which meet the client’s needs based on Awarding Body criteria for Edexcel programmes which include National Award, National Certificate etc. including the setting and assessment of assignments in the following core topics: Materials Handling, quality systems, SPC, capacity planning.

To monitor and assess advanced, experienced learners who are working within the industry; ensuring they have access and opportunity to achieve their qualifications and other learning outcomes as set out in their individual learning plans.

 

Key responsibilities:

 

  • To liaise with the client on delivery content to ensure its meets the Pro-lead programme objectives
  • To contextualise and bespoke the delivery content to meet the learning and development needs of each Pro-lead cohort group
  • On-going liaison with the JLR Pro-lead project steering group to ensure our delivery, assessment and programme management continues to meet JLRs needs and objectives
  • To develop and oversee the development of schemes of work, lesson plans and assignments/assessments that meet the requirements of the client and where appropriate Awarding Body and the Centre’s requirements
  • To develop and oversee the development of course materials including handouts and reference materials to support topic delivery
  • To deliver outstanding training to adults/experienced students to ensure the clients and individuals needs are met
  • To create a motivational learning environment by providing stimulating and demanding subject delivery that allows learners to acquire the skills and knowledge required
  • Support and mentor colleagues to ensure a motivational learning environment by providing stimulating and demanding subject delivery that allows learners to acquire the skills and knowledge required
  • Oversee delivery by other tutors to ensure outstanding training is delivered to Pro-lead delegates to ensure the clients and individuals needs are met
  • To assess learners progress by various means of assessment and provide progress feedback and progress reports to learners and managers, to include identifying where appropriate learners at risk
  • To provide learners, colleagues and employers with timely, accurate and constructive feedback on learners’ achievement, progress and areas for development that aids the learner’s progress.
  • To co-ordinate feedback to the Pro-lead steering group on both cohort and individual learner progress and any additional training and development or support needs that should be considere
  • To ensure teaching and learning is compliant with OfSTED, ESFA Awarding Body and the Centre’s standards/criteria
  • To ensure the health and safety of learners and staff is paramount with the Centre’s health and safety policy.
  • To maintain learner records such as Section Tracking, MIS Database, Section
  • To ensure the Pro-Lead contract is being effectively delivered, ensuring that objectives and deadlines are met accordingly and communicated with all relevant parties.

 

Knowledge and experience:

 

  • Experience lecturing/teaching to HNC level or higher – is essential
  • Experience working in an operational, project management or quality management/senior/supervisory role - is desirable
  • Time Served apprentice, relevant level 4 qualification - National Certificate or higher.
  • Skills specific NVQ Level 3 or higher or equivalent.
  • Level 3 (or higher) teacher training qualification. (A1 and V1 desirable)
  • To deliver subject learning materials for learners covering a range of practical topics; these include H&S, Comms, material handling, quality systems, SPC, mechanical maintenance.
  • Industrial experience combined with knowledge of current industry and best practice standards.
  • Have experience of coordinating and managing a commercial project, ensuring that the project is delivered in a timely and cost effective way.
  • Good presentational and communication skills, literate and numerate. Ability to motivate and command learner respect.
  • Integrity, commitment and professionalism. Ability to relate to learners and empathise with them
