We have an exciting opportunity for an Engineering/Manufacturing Maintenance Lecturer to join us as a Pro-Lead, working for one of our key blue chip clients, supporting experienced, higher level learners. Based from our site in Aston, Birmingham.

Main purpose of the job:

 

To develop and deliver schemes of work and lesson plans which meet the client’s needs based on Awarding Body criteria for Edexcel programmes which include National Award, National Certificate etc. including the setting and assessment of assignments in the following core topics: plant maintenance, condition monitoring, fault diagnosis, plant decommissioning,

To structure and deliver (on and off site) Level 3 and Level 4 courses, including HNC modules or higher qualifications, Technical Certificates and other bespoke short courses.

To monitor and assess advanced, experienced learners who are working within the industry; ensuring they have access and opportunity to achieve their qualifications and other learning outcomes as set out in their individual learning plans.

 

 

Key responsibilities:

 

  • To develop schemes of work, lesson plans and assignments/assessments that meet the requirements of the client and appropriate Awarding Body and the Centre’s customers
  • To develop course materials including handouts and reference materials to support topic delivery
  • To deliver training to adults/experienced students to ensure all Awarding Body and Centre requirements are met
  • To create a motivational learning environment by providing stimulating and demanding subject delivery that allows learners to acquire the skills and knowledge required
  • To assess learners progress by various means of assessment and provide progress feedback and progress reports to learners and managers, to include identifying where appropriate learners at risk
  • To provide learners, colleagues and employers with timely, accurate and constructive feedback on learners’ achievement, progress and areas for development that aids the learner’s progress.
  • To ensure teaching and learning is compliant with OfSTED, ESFA Awarding Body and the Centre’s standards/criteria
  • To ensure the health and safety of learners and staff is paramount with the Centre’s health and safety policy.
  • To maintain learner records such as Section Tracking, MIS Database, Section

 

Knowledge and experience:


  • Experience lecturing/teaching to HNC level or higher – is essential
  • Experience working in a maintenance management/senior/supervisory role - is desirable
  • Time Served Apprentice, relevant level 4 qualification - National Certificate or higher.
  • Skills specific NVQ Level 3 or higher or equivalent.
  • Level 3 (or higher) teacher training qualification. (A1 and V1 desirable)
  • To deliver subject learning materials for learners covering a range of practical topics; Plant maintenance, condition monitoring, fault diagnosis, plant decommissioning mechanical maintenance, condition monitoring. Other topics such as quality systems, material handling, SPC desirable.
  • Industrial experience combined with knowledge of current industry and best practice standards.
  • Good presentational and communication skills, literate and numerate. Ability to motivate and command learner respect.
  • Integrity, commitment and professionalism. Ability to relate to learners and empathise with them.
