We have an exciting opportunity to join EEF in the new role of Business Development Executive – Apprenticeships and L&D, based in Aston, Birmingham.

In this role, you will ensure that EEF Learning and Development programmes are promoted, understood and sold by the sales team. With the new Apprenticeship Levy coming in, there will be a clear emphasis on promoting our apprenticeship training programmes.

You will be working from warm leads, not cold calling and will be speaking to existing EEF clients, or previous training course customers.

As the UK’s leading trade body focused in the Manufacturing Sector, EEF offer a range of professional services to our members and to non-member organisations - principally HR & Legal, Training & Consultancy, Health & Safety and Climate & Environmental.

We are looking for candidates with previous experience and knowledge of apprenticeships and learning and development, with proven customer service experience and excellent people skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be the main point of contact for the wider sales team on all L&D programmes
  • Work directly with the National Sales Director on producing approaches to market
  • Work directly with the National Sales Director on pathways and connections between management programmes
  • Become an expert on Bespoke, ILM, CMI and Apprentice related management training programmes
  • Sell directly into clients on open programmes
  • Sell directly into clients for Management Apprenticeships Programmes
  • Work with Business Solution Partner’s and clients on building training into supply chains and sectors
  • Liaise with Marketing and the L&D business unit

Skills & Experience:

  • Ability to develop rapport with a wide range of people
  • Good knowledge of Apprenticeship offerings and Learning and Development.
  • Some experience of dealing with government funded training
  • Quick learner and willing to receive coaching and support
  • Ability to prioritise own time and work with limited supervision, but knows when to ask for support
  • Disciplined approach to gathering and using data to inform discussions with each account, and in providing feedback to line manager/colleagues
  • Excellent phone manner
  • Flexibility to travel to other sites when required
