Assistant Operations Manager – Conference Centre Venue

 

EEF Venues have an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Operations Manager to join our team at Engineers’ House, Clifton Down, Bristol.

 

As Assistant Operations Manager you will actively support all aspects of the venue’s day to day activities, whilst monitoring staff performance and service delivery standards.

 

In this role you will be working 40 hours a week, this is primarily day shifts and will include working 3 weekends out of 5. The earliest shift starts at 7.30am and late shifts typically finish by 7pm and no later than 10pm.

 

Engineers’ House is an attractive Grade II listed corporate conference venue; it is AIM accredited and has Gold ranking in BDRC's Venue Verdict Accreditation Scheme. The site has recently had a £135k investment to expand and improve facilities – we now offer 23 fully versatile meeting rooms. We exclusively cater for training, educational and business events, we have a high number of delegates on a daily basis, attended by a full-time team of 15, including 2 supervisors and our own onsite catering staff.

 

We are looking for someone who is/has;

  • Hands-on in their work and a true team player
  • Passionate about delivering the highest standards of customer service
  • Team leadership experience – able to lead, coach and develop
  • Experienced within the hospitality/conference/events/hotel industry
  • Exceptional people skills, with a positive and engaging personality

 

Key Responsibilities;          

  • To support the Operations Manager in the effective running of the venue
  • Liaise with organisers and delegates during events, acting as a primary contact
  • Promote a positive culture amongst staff, colleagues, and management to ensure effective teamwork and high morale.
  • Assist the Operations Manager in directing and monitoring staff performance
  • To assist department heads in conceiving and applying initiatives to generate revenue, up-sell and improve customer satisfaction
  • Carry out duty operations management role as required.
  • Ensure the venue is well presented
  • Work in conjunction with other departments to achieve seamless customer journey.
  • To be security conscious with awareness of guest & staff property and personal welfare.
  • Provide operational support to the reception team in the absence of the operations manager.
  • To oversee the room set up team, assisting and ensuring end of day procedures are met.

For this role a clean driving licence would be beneficial but is not essential
