Legal Secretary
EEF has an opportunity for a Secretary/Administrator, ideally with experience in legal services, to join our well-established team, based out of our Reading office.
In this role you will be part of a secretarial team, supporting our Legal Advisers who primarily deal with matters regarding Employment Law and HR: helping to ensure the efficient support and administration of the team.

Key Responsibilities
- Acting as an initial point of contact for clients using our HR & Legal Adviceline: recording basic information and passing to relevant Adviser.
- Ensuring telephone messages are dealt with quickly and efficiently.
- Arranging visits/appointments/meetings as required. Ensuring that a diary record is maintained at all times and that Advisers are kept informed.
- Liaising with Tribunal offices:
- receiving correspondence and telephone calls
- bringing these to the attention of the appropriate Adviser
- discussing dates and logging in the diary
- Writing for postponements etc.
- Typing submissions and witness statements, photocopying exhibits and preparing bundles for use at Employment Tribunals.
- Copying documents from Tribunals to member companies.
- Dealing with ACAS and passing on settlement information.
- Supporting with the preparation of material for seminars and training
- Collecting and sorting post, including following up any telephone enquiries that might arise from the daily post.
- Updating our client management system as required
- To work in conjunction with and collegiately with other legal secretaries
Experience and Skills Required:
- Experienced secretary/administrator
- Touch typing and audio typing experience
- Experience of working in the legal services sector would be highly beneficial
- Competent using Word/PowerPoint/Excel – experience of using a CRM/CMS/Database system is preferable
- Good written & oral communication skills
- Excellent customer service experience, with a friendly telephone manner
- Ability to prioritise work
- Works well under pressure, to tight deadlines
- Able to work on own initiative
- Team player who works well with others
