We have a great opportunity to join EEF as a HR Consultant, based from our Reading office and working with our clients in the South region.

Your key focus as a HR Consultant, whether working alone, as part of an EEF team, or with associate consultants, will be to manage, develop and deliver EEF’s HR Consultancy services. You will be working with companies which vary in terms of both industry and size; including world-class, blue-chip organisations.

EEF is a long-established business and the UK’s leading trade body focused on the Manufacturing and Engineering Sector. We offer a range of professional services to our members - principally regarding HR & legal, health & safety, climate & environmental advisory, training & consultancy.

Skills & Experience

  • Experience of working as either a HR Business Partner, an internal HR Consultant within a commercial business environment, or as in independent HR Consultant/Contractor
  • Proven experience of working with business managers and other stakeholders to develop and implement plans on a range of people issues: i.e. attendance, employee relations, managing change, redundancy and restructuring and risk management.
  • Demonstrable experience in three or more of the following areas:

-       Strategic HR agenda setting

-       Change management and embedding change

-       Learning strategy definition, evaluation and implementation, including e-learning capabilities and approaches to behavioural change

-       Day to Day HR practices including disputes, pay and reward, job evaluations, competency frameworks, performance management, employee engagement, TUPE, outplacements and HR documentation)

-       Data Protection

  • Comfortable in engaging a diverse range of colleagues and senior clients to build effective relationships.
  • Experience throughout the consulting lifecycle from opportunity identification, deal shaping, business case, change scoping and definition, design, delivery and transition.
  • Experience of writing proposals, tenders, project plans, HR plans etc.
  • Proven project management skills.
  • Consultative approach to gaining buy-in at senior levels
  • Able to demonstrate measurable results or added value to the operation from the HR intervention.
  • Ability to work and communicate at the highest level, to think strategically and deliver on objectives
  • An understanding of current HR challenges in manufacturing and in the wider industry would be beneficial.
  • MCIPD or demonstrable relevant professional experience.
  • Applicants will need to hold a full clean driving license as this role requires travel.
