We have an exciting opportunity for a Training Manager with experience in manufacturing/engineering to join our well established and growing team in Birmingham.

As an Industrial Training Manager/Work Based Assessor you will work from both our newly expanded and updated Aston Technical Training Centre site, as well as from our client's site, who are a leading manufacturer in the automotive sector. You will be fostering strong working relationships with the internal managers of one our key, blue chip clients, as well as having an active role in the development of young learners.

 

Job title: Industrial Training Manager/Work Based Assessor

Reports to: Programme Co-ordinator

 

Main purpose of the job

  • To monitor and assess learners, ensuring they have access and opportunity to achieve the qualifications set out in

their learning plans.

  • Co-ordinate and manage the process of learning, assessment and verification through National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ).
  • Determine and develop training plans and where necessary negotiate opportunities for delivery through the client’s site managers.
  • Liaise with other appropriate staff and update and maintain learner records in accordance with requirements.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage achievement of learners and carry out H&S risk assessments
  • Maintain learner records and provide them with timely and accurate feedback
  • Assess learners progress and provide updates, identifying any additional learning they might require to reach targets

 

Knowledge & Experience:

  • You will be experienced within manufacturing and/or engineering
  • You will need to be experienced as an NVQ Assessor/Trainer - qualified to A1 and V1 assessor/verifier level
  • You will be a Time Served apprentice, with a relevant level 4 qualification - National Certificate or higher.
  • You will have a skills specific NVQ, Level 3 or higher, or the equivalent.
  • Level 3 (or higher) teacher training qualification.
  • Experience within the automotive industry would be beneficial, but is not essential.
