As Head of Learning and Development you will have overall responsibility for the performance of EEF’s people learning and development strategy and will report into our Training and Development Division Director.


Based at our state of the art technical training centre in Aston, Birmingham, your key responsibilities will be:

 

  • Top and bottom line financial performance & management of overall budget centre.
  • Deliver and further develop a growth strategy for L&D, defining new and improving existing L&D related offerings.
  • Achievement of agreed quality outputs for teaching, learning and process compliance.
  • Overall responsibility the adherence to Health, safety and welfare obligations.
  • Development and implementation of a range of appropriate market aligned solutions including digital delivery platforms.
  • Agree and adapt a range of sales and marketing strategies in support of product development and sales aspirations.
  • Day to day management of delivery and support staff ensuring achievement of sales, servicing and teaching strategies.
  • Lead the business development and revenue generation (in conjunction with colleagues), working to an agreed target growth year on year.
  • Reporting on performance and generation of required reports etc.
  • Lead the production and presentation of appropriate solutions/proposals, involving colleagues with complementary skills to strengthen, differentiate and deliver L&D offerings/solutions.
  • Prepare management information relevant to the above.

 

Required knowledge and experience

  • Excellent understanding of learning and development strategy.
  • Proven experience of managing a large financial budget in a competitive market.
  • Proven ability to establish and articulate a vision, set goals and execute strategies as well as tracking and measuring results.
  • Provide new and existing clients with expertise and advice on L&D activities, building close, collaborative client relationships, and spotting and developing opportunities where we can provide our full range of services to clients.
  • Lead L&D assignments, with responsibility for the quality of delivery and levels of client satisfaction.
  • A broad understanding of the Apprenticeship Levy
  • Leadership and people development skills
  • Collegial approach to working with colleagues and clients.
  • The ability to lead and develop a disparate team effectively.
  • Excellent relationship building skills to be able to motivate, enthuse and build respect.
  • Proven skills to work effectively across internal functions to promote collaborative working.

  • An understanding of, and demonstrable commitment to, Safeguarding Children and Young People and Vulnerable Adults.
