EEF have an exciting opportunity to join our growing education team as an Apprenticeships Account Lead for UTC Aerospace Systems, primarily based at UTC in Wolverhampton, with some time spent at EEFs engineering training centres in Aston.

 

As Account Lead you will work with UTC Managers and EEF Managers to ensure the deliver and quality of the UTC apprenticeship programme - managing and coordinating the appropriate Training Development Advisors (TDAs) and thereby the learning programmes for UTC Apprentices.

 

For this role the key skills and experience needed are; a good working knowledge and experience of both apprenticeships and the manufacturing sector.

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Be the point of contact and main liaison between UTC, the Apprentice and EEF.
  • Manage the monitoring and assessment of UTC learners, ensuring they have access and opportunity to achieve the qualifications set out in their individual learning agreements.
  • Ensure that, monitoring, observations and delivery, along with assessment and learner review activities meet UTC, EEF and Awarding Body QA requirements and they are grade 2 or better, using Ofsted definitions.
  • Oversee the timely completion of learner behavior assessments and produce consolidated reports.
  • Ensure learners, colleagues, and UTC staff are provided with a timely, accurate and constructive feedback on learners’ achievement, progress and areas for development.
  • To assess learners progress by various means of assessment and provide progress feedback and progress reports to learners and managers, to include identifying where appropriate learners at risk.
  • Work with UTC’s Health, Safety and Quality Managers to maintain health and safety, safeguarding and quality assurance
  • Liaise and Line Manage with UTC / EEF Staff the Pastoral Care and Safeguarding of the Apprentices, managing holiday and absence queries etc.

 

Knowledge, experience & skills required:

 

  • Manufacturing, industrial and/or aerospace sector experience – essential
  • Knowledge and experience of apprenticeships / work based learning / NVQs – essential
  • A teaching qualification and/or assessor, or verification award would be beneficial
  • Leadership and people development skills
  • Empathy with young people, ability to plan and project manage programmes to meet business requirements
  • Logical approach to problem solving
  • Well organised
  • Good presentational and communication skills
  • Ability to motivate and command learner and employer respect.

  • Working hours are expected to be Monday to Thursday 8am to 4.30pm and Friday 8am to 1.30pm
