EEF have an exciting opportunity to join our growing education team as a Training & Development Adviser / Assessor, working with apprentices at UTC Aerospace Systems.

 

We are looking for someone who has experience of supporting learners within engineering disciplines – i.e. Fitting & Assembly, Machining, Technical Support etc., ideally within a vocational/workplace setting, such as apprenticeships or NVQs.

We are Ofsted grade 2, RoATP approved and have an apprentice completion rate of 85%.

Key responsibilities:

 

  • To work with the UTC Managers and EEF Account Lead and Managers to deliver and ensure the quality of the UTC programme, in-company and at EEF Aston.
  • Work closely with UTC and EEF Account Lead in the development and implementation of the appropriate programme standards.
  • Determine and develop training plans and where necessary negotiate opportunities for delivery through managed experience.
  • Coordinate the process of learning, assessment and verification through National Vocational Qualifications and Standards.
  • Coordinate the learners for any external assessment (EPA) requirements and format
  • To review and assess learners, ensuring they have access and opportunity to achieve the qualifications set out in their individual learning plan.
  • Liaise and assist the customer to establish their recruitment and training needs, assist with any screening process.
  • Liaise and assist the Account Lead with UTC / EEF Staff the Pastoral Care, Line Management and Safeguarding of the apprentices, managing holiday, absence queries etc.
  • Ensure the Health and Safety of apprentices is maintained to meet quality assurance criteria.

 

 

Knowledge and experience required:

 

  • Time served apprenticeship, or a relevant level 4 qualification, or a skills specific NVQ Level 3 or the equivalent or higher 
  • Assessor qualification – such as TAQA, A1, V1, D32, D33
  • Ideally you will have a Level 3 teacher training qualification
  • A verification award i.e. V1 would be beneficial
  • Recent industrial experience, combined with knowledge of current industry and best practice standards
  • Leadership and people development skills, with the ability to motivate learners and achieve their respect
  • Good presentation and communication skills

  • Working hours are expected to be Monday to Thursday 8am to 4.30pm and Friday 8am to 1.30pm
